B’bye, Dark Circles!

Let’s be honest – there is no way that you can go on with modern life without aging and stress; let’s not kid ourselves with the idea of uninterrupted and ample beauty sleep and a wonderfully balanced diet either. Dark circles or shadows or the discoloration of skin around the eye is a challenge so many of us struggle with this problem in modern times. Especially, those who are genetically predisposed to getting them.

Though they aren’t a severe problem, they do make people appear tired and fatigued. After you’re done blowing loads of money on expensive treatments, medicines and creams, it wouldn’t really hurt to try a few of these home remedies to eliminate these unwanted patches, right?

Almond Oil

Almond oil is great for the delicate skin and consistent application of almond oil helps to reduce the dark circles. Vitamin E if used with Almond E regularly removes the shadows under the eyes. Gently massage it on your dark circles before sleeping at night and rinse with cold water in the morning. Repeat – every single day. Make a habit of it.

Cucumbers have both skin-brightening and mild acerbic properties which help to heal those dark shadows naturally. They also have a very hydrating and revitalizing effect. Mix cucumber juice with lemon juice and use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on the dark shadow. After 15 minutes, rinse your face with water. Repeat this daily for a week for best results. Here’s hoping that what goes on for a week grows into a habit that’s kind of hard to get rid of.

Raw Potato

Potato contains natural lightening agents which can help brighten dark circles and get eliminate puffiness under the eyes. Extract the juice from one or two raw potatoes and dip two balls of cotton in the juice. Close your eyes and place the cotton balls on both your eyes. The juice should be covering the dark circles under your eyes as well as the eyelids. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash your eyelids with cool water. Twice a week is what we suggest.

Tomatoes are able to lighten skin to a great degree due to their whitening properties. Remember when your mom said tomato juice would be good for you? Well, like about a lot of other things in life, she was right about this one too. Next time, leave a little bit aside for direct application to the skin. Take one teaspoon of tomato juice and mix it with one-half teaspoon of lemon juice. Smoothly apply this mixture on the dark shadows and let it stay for 10 minutes. Wash your eye lids with water. Repeat the remedy two times a day for a few weeks.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice contains Vitamin C that helps in removing dark circles around the eyes, due to its skin-brightening qualities. Soak a cotton ball in fresh lemon juice and apply the cotton around your eyes. Let it rest for 10 minutes and wash it off. Do this once a day for a few weeks. Watch those dark circles fade away!

If you need a push, this is it. Off to the kitchen again – this time for guilt-free indulgence. Chop, chop!
